About us. . .
What is Family Child Care: Family Child Care is the care of children in the home of another person
or family. The Air Force defines FCC as 10 hours or more of care, weekly or on a regular
basis in government quarters on base. A Family Child Care home has no more than 6 children
under the age of 8 at one time, including the providers own children. All homes are
inspected monthly, are insured, and meet the DOD requirements for quality childcare.
A
family childcare home will provide high quality care within a safe environment. In
addition to attentive supervision, age appropriate activities must be offered to promote
childrens development. Physical, social/emotional and cognitive growth must all be
considered. Learning experiences that offer times of discovery and feelings of success
will help promote childrens positive self-esteem.
Family Child Care approves, trains, licenses, and monitors
professional child care providers working in their homes.
