I told a friend of mine recently that he shouldn’t be so resistant to taking golf swing lessons. His putting game is solid, and overall he’s a promising player, but he’s not hitting the ball as far as he should be, and he’s not very consistent with his accuracy. I think he would be wise to take some golf swing lessons from one of the nearby trainers, or maybe order some DVD’s from the Internet.

I think I’ve convinced him, and I’m sure he’ll do a lot better with a little bit of instruction. Getting your swing up to par can be a tough process, but he has some real potential, so I’m glad he’s taking my advice.

Many people who play the game of golf are looking to improve their handicap by a few strokes. For those of us who have made this type of improvement, we know what it takes to get there. Getting better is possible, but you’ll need a fair amount of golf course instruction to make it happen. From there, the rest has to be done on your own.

Golf is a highly personal game, so no amount of golf course instruction is going to do it for you. If you are going to really get to the point where your scores are low, it will take lots of buckets of balls on the driving range. If you have a nice foundation to build from with your golf course instruction, it can make the process much easier, though.

Great golf tips can improve your game tenfold. One of the best pieces of advice I can offer is to practice. Get a set of good clubs and take yourself out to the range. Get familiar with your equipment, with how a swing feels, with how you handle your body.

The movements of a swing can seem unnatural until you’ve practiced them. Learn that fluid movement: letting your knee pull towards the motion of your swing, turning your torso, following through with your arms and lifting your head. It’s a series of motions that are completed within only a few seconds but how you do them will make a difference in your game.

Another golf tip would be to enlist the help of a golf instructor. The tips and advice you’ll get from them will be gold.

Anyone who has ever played golf can tell you that it’s a game with many different sides. Not only do you have to worry about the physical game, but golf course instruction is very important, too. Knowing how to hit the shots will help you score well, but you also need to know when to hit those shots, as well. If you are looking for solid golf course instruction, then you can get it from a teaching pro.

Too many players neglect this part of their game and it shows on the scorecard. If you can manage to combine solid shot making ability with an excellent mental capacity for golf, then you will avoid those blowup holes that add strokes to an otherwise solid score. Keep this in mind as you plan out your training.

Golfers of every skill level need a dependable short game to be successful; you should analyze your short game and plan a course of action to improve it.

Balance on all short shots is one of the most important fundamental tips that needs to be mastered. In order to maintain a solid balance on chip- and pitch shots, keep the majority of your weight on your left foot and leg. When you set up over a shot, you should have the feeling that you could tap an egg with the toe of your right foot without breaking it.

Keeping your weight on the left foot and leg will firm up your left side during the stroke and help you make solid contact on the shot.

Any good golfer will be able to tell you the same thing about their swing. That is, the most important thing is how you start with your setup and with your grip. Without a good handle on how to do these things, no amount of swing training is going to help you hit better shots from the tee to the green. With that in mind, some golf grip tips are necessary.

Some players who are new to the game of golf think that you have to squeeze the club as hard as possible. This kind of death grip approach is not a good one to take and it is quite unnecessary. One of the best golf grip tips is to grip the club lightly and hold it where it’s comfortable. A full, fluid swing is almost impossible when you’re gripping it too tight.
