I took some full swing lessons from a golf pro buddy of mine, and I really feel like I’ve finally hit my stride as a player. I’m hitting the ball straighter and longer than ever before.
There is something to be said for getting some outside perspective on your golf game. This guy had been after me for months, offering to give me lessons, but I guess I had too much pride.
Now I feel really stupid for waiting so long. I could have been playing like this all along, but I had some crazy notion that I would teach myself everything. Sometimes being stubborn and independent can be a handicap, especially when you’re trying to learn something.

Golf is just as much mental as it is physical, so a playing lesson gives a golfer the chance to learn how to stay focused on the tasks at hand.
Golf course instruction costs the most of any form of lessons because of the time a pro must put in, but the insight a player gains during this process is very effective at quickly lowering their score.
