Anyone who has ever played golf can tell you that it’s a game with many different sides. Not only do you have to worry about the physical game, but golf course instruction is very important, too. Knowing how to hit the shots will help you score well, but you also need to know when to hit those shots, as well. If you are looking for solid golf course instruction, then you can get it from a teaching pro.
Too many players neglect this part of their game and it shows on the scorecard. If you can manage to combine solid shot making ability with an excellent mental capacity for golf, then you will avoid those blowup holes that add strokes to an otherwise solid score. Keep this in mind as you plan out your training.

One of the biggest parts of the game that most people don’t think about is golf course management. What is that, you ask? It’s the way that you manage your way around the golf course during a given round. It is what you do when you are confronted with a tough shot out of the woods. Do you chip it out into the fairway and take what amounts to a stroke penalty, or do you try to draw the ball around the tree, over the water, and up onto the green?
If you want to be a good golfer, then you need to know a few things about golf course management. The first is that you can’t effectively manage the course until you know your own capabilities. Be honest with yourself out there. If you’ve only hit your 3-iron 220 yards one time, then there is no reason why you should be going for a green over water that is 215 yards away. By knowing your own limitations, you can figure out what the best shots are going to be, and that will ultimately save you strokes on the scorecard.
