I told a friend of mine recently that he shouldn’t be so resistant to taking golf swing lessons. His putting game is solid, and overall he’s a promising player, but he’s not hitting the ball as far as he should be, and he’s not very consistent with his accuracy. I think he would be wise to take some golf swing lessons from one of the nearby trainers, or maybe order some DVD’s from the Internet.

I think I’ve convinced him, and I’m sure he’ll do a lot better with a little bit of instruction. Getting your swing up to par can be a tough process, but he has some real potential, so I’m glad he’s taking my advice.

Stretching and warm ups are important prior to tee off. Pay attention to the shoulder muscles and hips as these are key components to the golf swing. At most pro golf events, golfers will head to the driving range and stretch before hitting some balls. Warm muscles allow the golfer to have a smooth swing and positively influence the mechanics of the drive. When practicing your swing do not immediately swing for the fences. A rushed, full power swing may lead to an injury. Control and mechanics are the keys to a long drive. Also, by arriving early enough, the golfer can take time to loosen up. These measures help to ensure that the golfer’s drive achieves longer distances.

The basic building block of solid golf performance is your swing, and golf swing practice is something that you shouldn’t neglect. When I was first learning to play golf, I was so eager to play that I almost never stopped to practice my swing. Eventually my friends started getting better and I was not. Luckily, they told me what they were doing that I wasn’t: practicing their swing. Just as a basketball player can’t be successful by going weeks on end without some practice shooting the ball at the basket, any golfer who wants to avoid being embarrassed in front of his friends or coworkers should remember to regularly practice his golf swing.

One of the most commonly overlooked elements of a player’s game is golf swing tempo. For many, fighting the urge to swing the club with maximum force is very hard to overcome. What you may find is that a more controlled swing is more effective way to approach the ball. For those who struggle with controlling their golf swing tempo, working with a golf pro is an effective way to learn ways to remain under control. Since most players have a tendency to either over or under rotate the club face as it makes contact with the ball, the harder you swing the club the more of an impact this flaw will have. A hard swing also tends to exaggerate any flaws that might be present and makes them harder to overcome.

I recently purchased a DVD release from a respected pro dealing with anti-slice golf instruction. I’ve always had a problem with slicing the ball, and it’s plagued me since I began as a golfer. This DVD has really helped me on the course, and the tips that have been most helpful were actually really subtle swing adjustments.

I expected I would have to make drastic changes to my swing, but I was able to massively reduce my slice problem without making huge changes to my basic approach at the tee. This experience has convinced me to buy a few more DVD’s from the same pro. If his anti-slice golf instruction DVD is this good, the rest of his products are probably useful as well.

When it comes to golf driving tips, it can sometimes be hard to decide what to believe. There is a lot of contrary advice out there, and sometimes there can be difficulty when it comes to sorting through all the confusion and finding an answer to your particular set of problems. The average golfer will read thousands of golf driving tips throughout his playing career, and will probably only use about one third of that advice at most. It’s important to remember that each person’s individual swing is unique, and you need to keep that in mind when making adjustments. If you make the wrong changes, it’s worse than leaving things alone.

Great golf tips can improve your game tenfold. One of the best pieces of advice I can offer is to practice. Get a set of good clubs and take yourself out to the range. Get familiar with your equipment, with how a swing feels, with how you handle your body.

The movements of a swing can seem unnatural until you’ve practiced them. Learn that fluid movement: letting your knee pull towards the motion of your swing, turning your torso, following through with your arms and lifting your head. It’s a series of motions that are completed within only a few seconds but how you do them will make a difference in your game.

Another golf tip would be to enlist the help of a golf instructor. The tips and advice you’ll get from them will be gold.
